Integrating Technology into anInterdisciplinary Math and Science Project The Boiling Point 4. Storing data
Databases
Databases are software programs that are used to record, store and present information. The advantage of a database is that it may also be used to sort and display information in many ways. A teacher may set up or have their students set up a database to enter data from a project. The information you may want to store in a database for this project is:
- class group
- date
- heating device
- volume of water
- elevation
- latitude
- longitude
- average room temperature
- average boiling point
After lessons on databases, teachers will set up a database to record the data from this project or another project of their choice.
Introduction to Databases
Below is a review of basic database information from ClarisWorks.
