The vessel is a spiritual image long associated with the holding or containing of something precious. A chalice or cup holds a sacred or magical substance. A jar may store nourishment, a healing potion, or a scroll upon which is written words of wisdom. The human heart is a vessel that holds love for children, a beloved, the sacred. A vessel as boat/ship/raft is a metaphor for the journey of life or toward some great truth. My Truth includes the fact that I am a woman and all that that implies: a vessel for new lives brought into being, nurtured and taught.
