Artist of the month Blue Mountains based artist Tibor Murany is one of the local artists participating in the ArtFiles Showcase on Thursday 23rd February 2006 at Auburn Town Hall, launching the 2006 edition of ArtFiles : the arts directory for Western Sydney "My paintings are not of the moment, more like walk through time..." "The colours in my paintings are based on hourly changes in my surroundings, sometimes apperaing vividly different from the original." Tibor is a contemporary artist anr tutor in drawing and painting with over 30 years of experience. His most recent exhibition was at the International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence, Italy 2003. He has studied Art in Sydney and at Art Acedemies in Dusseldorf and Florence. "The phenomenon of the Blue Mountains, the subtle vapours from the gum trees have the tendency to change the appearance of the colours, especially when the sun rays penetrate through distant smokes from the bush fires and the fog."
