This is a reproduction of one of Greg Hildebrandt's orginal paintings in the series he did for the children's book, The Wizard of Oz. His paintings are phenomenal...beautiful in every aspect. Everything is done with so much care. The detail and acuracy is stunning, right down to the checkered squares on Dorothy's dress. I wanted to challenge myself to recreate that same wonderful visual. 3 weeks in the making! This was my first REAL painting of any kind. I was very nervous but it turned out far better than I was expecting - enjoy!

"DREAMS"

This is one of my favorites pieces. I found this photo in a magazine and it caught my eye right away. The calm, peaceful look on her face and the positon of her body with the arm unfolded extending off of the bed- its so true to sleep. I wanted to capture the fluffy, comfortable pillow under her arm, and the soft gentle feeling of the over all picture. When one looks at it, I want them to feel a little tired, or yearn a little more for sleep and possilbly remind them how wonderful sleep can be.

"SHE SEES YOU"

I love this one. The girl in this painting is Leelee Sobieski- a brilliant 17 year-old actress. I LOVE pictures. And when I saw this one I was extremely happy. I said, "I've got to paint that!" I wasn't painting it so much for the fact that it was Leelee, but the fact that the overall tone and look was dark and mysterious -this strange girl in a black cloak, on the rocks of a beach, going who knows where... peering at you. For what reason? That's for you to decide. The darkness and mysteriousness is what I was going for.
