Behind the Eyes

I wish you could hear beyond my words
To know what I feel, every nuance
Every taste of metallic soul flame
Bittersweet like a remembered kiss
Or a forgotten bliss
You can’t feel the hurt behind my thoughts
Emotions trapped within a wall of green glass
Shouting for mercy in salty rain
If you could see the pain within my chest
Heart milked dry and served as wine
Reeling from the touch of your soft hands
Turn away; you couldn’t bear the sight
All you see is a tear on my cheek
You can’t see the storm behind my eyes

Burning Town

Condemned, it’s my realm
These ash laden streets
Soul capital once strong
Now laying at my feet
Buildings stand as corpses
High walls charred so black
Tinder smoking, choking
Pristine facade now cracked
Ruins wracked in pain
Locked away, quarantined
Prisoner plodding down
Darker days, it seems to be
Wintry winds wind down
Cinders seem so cold
The day slowly creeps away
Time lines grow so old
My citadel, crippled quite
Broken yet it stands
Teetering so close to death
Still I reign within my land

Die

Parasite
Why are you here?
I need not your company
Insecure ramblings
Acid tongue
Find a new victim
Why me?
Twist and mutate
Invasive thing
Brood of resentment
Why do you plague me?
Leech like
Kissing with parched lips
Draining the will to be
Killing me
I was happier alone
Why won’t you die?
Just die

Fool of Swords

Let's hang the wayward traveler
Morbid totem for the day
String him up with piano wire
Let's see how long he sways
Bind his fate so helpless
First we'll break apart his will
No one's martyr, stretch him farther
Scream some taunts so shrill
Cast some curses, cast a stone
Sling them both the same
Watch closely as his eyes grow dim
And you'll see his dying flame
The example hangs, the one we've slain
This knight of swords dethroned
Now its time, lets walk away
And let him die alone

Hero

Super man
A savior singing true
Keeping evils at bay
All to my dismay
Liberate the enslaved
Free the fear struck
Save the fair maiden
Slay the chromium dragon
Warm their trembles with your cape
Sweep them away on your silver steed
Cut down the black-fist tyrant
Let the light skewer me
You soldier, freedom fighter you
You saved the day
You got the girl
If times were different
You’d be my hero
But I am the villain

Ink

Monochrome passion
Quicksilver slick
Secrets give life to the canvas
Painting in sensuality
Soft electricity fills the veins
The quill dances
Caressing the depths
Velvet teasing lips
Tracing a firebrand
Penning the lover in the shadows
Muse-song, in heavy breath
Echoes shaping the steel
Mercury swirls with india ink
Black and white, anything but grey
Subtle, scintillating in the throes
The soft whispers afterwards
Of volumes yet to be ventured
The verses yet to come
The pleasure yet to be in ink

Ipecac

Wretch, you never change
Emotions bent deranged
Backhanded ways
In fecund days
Choking back my rage
Hag, you reek of lies
Your soul swarms with flies
Rotten is your heart
And that’s just the start
Broken, your victim cries
Crone, I hate your stare
It’s not the angel’s fare
I despise your face
And your kiss’ taste
Your nature rends and tears
Bitch, you make me scream
What you say’s not what you mean
Your words cut me
Just let me free
Why must you kill my dreams?
You make me want to vomit

Little One

Doll faced
Devious little devil
In pretty bows and silks
Who’s your father of the day?
Hand around my finger
Tinny scratches are the song
Let’s hear your daily praise
Porcelain voice cries for daddy
When your milk cup’s empty
Fill you to the brim in trade
Trade for some plastic love
Then pretend to be a big girl
Move on Little One
Come back when you thirst again
Return when you need to be filled

Orange Blossom

The sky is a monster tonight
A bloated beast, devouring the stars
Screaming obscenities like white knives
It's cauldron magic
Slate grey and sweet smelling
The dead are walking tonight
Worshipping that rusty eye
Bony hands folded in prayer
Strangling the wayward traveler
Dragging him into the night
It’s so cold out tonight
Afraid to leave the roadside
There are phantoms out there
Trying to lure me away
To drown in the murk of the sky

To The Memories

We’ve come a long way
The past has passed us by
But turn around
You can see it in the distance
I can barely make out the tears
We’ve grown strong
The pain is days away
Both of us have made it
Our aches have healed
We’ve endured the worst
But have tasted the best
I remember and I can smile
And through all of this
You made me happy
So let’s celebrate
Raise your glass
Let’s make a toast
To the memories

Moonlight

Cool light washes away reality
Drowning it in a thousand hues of blue
Till heaven is indigo water and cyan sand
And the tide is a gulf of stars
Words melodic under night’s sky
Every lyric caressing ivory bodies
Shivering like windswept palm fronds
Enigmas hide in every shadow
Changing, deceiving, unnerving
Making the familiar seem unknown
Giving just a glimpse of escape
Lasting till the moon falls below
Moonlight hides the malice in a smile
Makes every lie seem sweet
It makes Hell seem beautiful
Moonlight changes everything

Wax

Soapstone maiden
Carve those sad eyes
Whittle a little pity
A mask to hide the scars
Don’t fear to be seen
Every day you molt in reverse
Dried serpent husks like a quilt
Like a wedding veil body bag
Is it so ugly underneath?
Masquerades so insincere
In red silk and yellow eyes
Dance the phantom’s dance
Arabesque puppet shows
Slit those corset chains
I won’t hate you if you fall
Time is running out
So please tell me
Are you real?
Leave the shadows, light the wick
Melt away the wax
Just let me see what’s real
