Her Time

Rise, little girl rise
Gather your toys and follow me
And don’t forget your teddy bear
Come with me, come with me
Watch my blackboard
Learn what I teach
Fall little girl, fall with me
Forget your dreams and fall
Take your hammer, your chisel
Cut your grave stone
Then fall to your knees
Caress the black soil of your time
Cast away your monsters
Your baying wolves
Join me in the cold earth, little girl
Join me… in darkness

Hideous

Visage of a monster
Rusty shank between my ribs
I cry for how I hurt her
I hide for what I did
A beast, unforgiven
Deeper into pain I sink
Outcast, I was driven
To leap from the brink
Fighting, trying, but failing
I can not heal this pain
A demon in man’s clothing
Destroyer of this plane
Tears stream, scarring my face
A smile to scare the masses
Belonging to a breed so base
Swiftly my time here passes
I am hideous

Jadesoul

A soul of jade, a heart’s tirade, sojourning far and wide.
A granite man, a key in hand, on kismet’s wicked ride.
Heart rimmed with frost, forever lost, on bitter winds he flies.
One can’t ask why, but the time is nigh, for taking back the sky.
An angel's glance, a liquid trance, awash in emerald rain.
Within soft eyes, the answers lie, cleansing away old pain.
A silent wrath, a daunting path, the past upon a pyre.
A forgotten sin, a passion within, burning with golden fire.
A dawning day, jade melts away, a sign within pale light.
A rasping hiss, intangible bliss, a wrong forever right

Jagged Angel

Lie to me, perfect lies
Lies that make my heart soar
Tell me what I need to hear
Your whispers, honeyed hurt
A dire panacea for my soul
Words to ward the pain
On wings like gossamer blades
They slice like razors
But I never hit the ground
Floating on fallacy, fear free
It doesn’t hurt this way
Fly me to my hollow heaven
Just don’t drop me
And don’t say that you love me not

Killing Time

I’m getting tired of waiting
The clock’s hands seem frozen
Killing time, fingers talking
Glowing glass hurts my eyes
Crystal ball in a box
Divining my final dream
Seeing that it is locked
Doorway in the future
And my key lost to the past
I could die a dozen years
Then awake to find happiness
I would have my picket fence
And there she would stand
My love, children in her arms
In the threshold, welcoming me
But I remain trapped in the now
Watching the second hand tick
Tearing up from the glare
Eyelids are getting heavy
I think I will wait just a bit longer

Kismet’s Oubliette

Wandering alleys
A chill on the winter air
Searching for the truth

Sifting through fingers
Tears falling, begging the sky
Answers in the dust

Earth, his lone embrace
Sleep of a true king, the breeze
Whispering his song

Last Dance

Last call by the barkeep
The lights are dimming low
Beer mugs warm and empty
And your mind running slow
The last guests part the building
Stale jazz chords drone about
Alone but for a pretty blonde
Her head down, in a pout
Eyes swell red as the clock ticks by
Between her and the door, you’re torn
Don’t dare make that old mistake
You’ll regret it in the morn
Last dance of the evening
You better make it last
Sweep that lady in your arms
Forget about the past
She won’t sit there forever
Just ask to take her hand
Just one last dance, a perfect dance
Would make the night so grand

Make Believe

Let’s hold each other
Hold me
And I will hold you
Let’s hold each other to protect each other
There are monsters out there
Vampires hiding in the shadows
They are out to hurt us
And I am scared
Let’s be happy together
Find a cottage in the woods
One far away from those hurtful things
A place we can be safe
Let’s run away
Run to the clouds
Where they can’t get us
They make us cry
And I don’t want to cry no more
Let’s just love each other

Or maybe it’s all just make believe

Mercy Kill

Broken one
Haggard form
Barely alive
Cast to the alleys
Rank with refuse
Rodent man
Clutching left breast
Bracing against the wall
Eye whites yellow
Heart reds black
Blood furnace blazing
Blistered by the flames
Mind in pain brine
Brackish thoughts
Brandishing a dagger
There is only one cure
