A Woman Named Vandal

She was named Vandal
An image to mar perfection
Or a single point of light
Up-turned lighthouse
Haunted, guiding to the reefs
Cracked sidewalks scream curses
Bleeding weeds, imperfect hearth
Onlookers cringe and rush past
The eyes only see a faded shell
Perceive a wasted age
Windows to the soul shuttered tight
They won’t see the pain…

Aberration, she didn’t care
Blasphemy, she’s not aware
Ghostly sins, she’s innocent
Yet she was named Vandal

Admiring Her

Beautiful art I see
Framed in gilded hair
Glass ways, tinted azure
Lips pursed, speaking a tapestry
Slightly lilac, and also rose
An aroma like ice in rain
Cold yet inviting, a rush
Colors and tastes exotic
Lines soft and inviting
Pleasurable assault, senses surrender
Thoughts and desires
Dreams, shaded to perfection
They become whole before me
Subtle curves beg to be touched
But velvet serpents hold me back

Alyssa’s Hope

Little doves
Watching the world with wide eyes
Peeking from the heavens
Flying, like white scarves on the wind
Softly fluttering to the sky
A little child, innocent
Listening to the dove’s song
Smiling brightly
No hurt
Living forever in happiness
The sun shines a welcoming warmth
Calling the little children
To be embraced by the sky

Angel Eyes

To be noticed
That is all I ask
To be noticed by angel eyes
To bask in their warmth
To be comforted by them
I only wish to be seen by them
To let them know that I am alive
I am seeking an angel
One who will let me see
See eyes always smiling
Never in pain, no refrain
To be seen without judgment
Without scorn
All I seek is angel eyes

Bloodletting

Happiness, a slit away
Take your blade and save my day
Heart wine, it makes its way
Intoxicate, taste of dismay
Non sense seeking, today, this day
Vein ward bleeding, drain away
Stay away, just stay away
The day so grey, let me lay
As painful purples flow away
Red stained clay marks the bay
Sorrow sipping thoughts decay
Wicked stings, they do not stray
Lingering in the blood’s soft hay
So let us let it drain away
Let’s die and have our peace today
Darkness delved, bloodless lay
Sleeping sound, it don’t hurt this way
So go away, and stay away
Let my life subside today
No hurt will plague my blood this day

Breathe It In

Breathe it in
Breathe deep
Taste it
That scent, that emotion
Hold it within you
Revel in it
In it’s glory
In it’s satisfaction
Breathe it in
Relish every moment
And never let it go
Cherish your victory
For no reward is greater
Look skywards
Close your eyes
Breathe it in

Charon’s Dance

Dance with me
Dance in the silence of space
Fear not for yourself
Your hands are cold, but so our mine
Lock gazes with me
Lock embraces with me
Dancing together, so far away from the sun
Together we will be aflame
We don’t need the sun
A sun that shuns us
All we need is this dance
Forever spinning together
Dance with me
In the chill of eternal dark
Our tears will freeze then drift away
So far away from the sun

China Doll

She stands before me, a precious little china doll.
An idol of innocence, with alabaster skin and rouge lips.
I stare into her eyes, her glass eyes. She stares back…
No wait, she is staring through me.
She is hurting.
Her porcelain visage belies what lingers within.
She is suffering, she is crying inside…
And I can’t help her.
She wants someone to take her away from this hell.
I want to carry her away with me, but I can’t.
All that remains is her pain, and those glass eyes, slowly closing.
She needs so little.
She needs compassion, and for someone to hold her tight.
All this china doll needs is love…
But I can’t do a thing.

Duet Desired

Crane an ear, crack a smile
Listening to you sing a while
Lost in time, lost in thought
Lost in the lovely art you wrought
Your silken voice, serenity
It slowly gets the best of me
I lean back and watch in awe
As deeper into love I fall
To hear your words, an inviting taunt
Pretending that is all I want
But all that I really want to do
Is to be the one who sings with you
For voices to entwine then unite
A duet in a forgiving light
Yet how can I join your song
When I can barely speak at all
