Ted's Gallery of Art Part # 3

This is a collection of art I've done for publication on the Internet.

Everything shown here has been painted digitally with an electronic brush directly on the computer screen, and is NOT a digitally altered photograph.

Copies of these images may be obtained on canvas, or paper.

Debbie JPEG as done by Ted

Debbie's picture posed a real problem for me as I wanted to depict a person's hair realistically, yet I seem to miss that photographic quality. I asked another artist for an opinion, which was to suggest that I was overdoing its rendering, and to try instead to paint, not draw the hair. He referred me to look at any of the self-portraits by Rembrandt.. then to block in the hair colour as I did the face. John Hagan ,then submitted the hair as he would portray it.

A woman with flowers

This lady holding a flower, is an attempt to use background colours to bring out her skin tones.

A new style

I guess you cannot see the perspiration, but I dug out the old paint-by-hand brush to try a new approach with this portrait. It's different, but I kinda like it.

nude in water Flesh tones and shading is the utmost challenge when tried on the human form where subtle differences are all important. Here is a subject which other artists are free to add their brush strokes of colour.
