DESCRIPTION OF ART:
For the majority of my career I moved steadily toward processing my painting concepts
abstractly. I try to avoid painting objects or things. It is necessary to understand the
landscape and human figure to develop a sense of reality, and I pursue this regularly, as
a piano player stays in touch with the scales. In my own serious work, I tend to symbolize
ideas and values and states of mind in pure abstract terms.
