This painting was originally named "Splash Appeal". I didn't really like the name, but couldn't think of anything that seemed to fit. It was painted in the late summer of 1998. I had only been painting for a few months and when my sister, Kim Swingle came to visit in September, she became my biggest fan. Kim's birthday is in September and she found several of my paintings that she loved. She finally said she liked this one the best because it reminded her of Jamaica and how she feels when she's there, etc., and so this painting was my birthday gift to her. After she was gone, I looked at the photo of it and decided to rename it. Jamaican Kim fits. It's hanging in Kim's home in Atascadero, California.
