PAINTINGS TAKE REVOLUTIONARY NEW DIRECTION

Tibor Murany’s paintings have created a new revolutionary direction in art with his unique interpretation of the surroundings.
Instead of capturing the moment, as it will be like with photographic image, Murany introduces time. His aim is to show the colours, lights and shadows as they change during the day, thus adding another dimension to his works.
All the changes and transitions are represented together in his oil paintings.
His colours are based on the hourly changes in his surroundings and the phenomenon of the Lower Blue Mountains with its subtle vapours from the gum trees which have the tendency to change the colours, especially when the sun’s rays penetrate through distant smoke, mist and fog.
His style makes the colours more vibrant, sometimes over-dramatic and almost surreal in appearance.
The subject and composition is apparent to the viewer but the colour combination is new, vibrant and dynamic.
Tibor’s work will be on exhibition at the Joan Sutherland Centre, Penrith from April 12, 2002.
